Open Space Designs Released - Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project

Final designs have been released for the linear public open space that integrates with the Caulfield to Dandenong level crossing removal project currently under construction.  The design of the open space by Aspect Studios has been through an extensive consultation process with Councils and the Community Open Space Expert Panel (COSEP) chaired by Tim Entwisle the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Botanic Gardens.

COSEP included local representatives, local Councils, Victoria Police, Bicycle Network and the Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA) with Jill Garner, Sophie Patitsas and the Victorian Design Review Panel's Jon Shinkfield and Michael Walker.

When the design vision for this project was first released in early 2016 the OVGA emphasised the importance our continued involvement in the design development and refinement of the entire project to ensure that design excellence and quality was protected.  Community and expert advice provided to the architects and landscape architects through COSEP and through the OVGA has been critical and enriched the design process ensuring the final design is inclusive, relevant to local communities and high quality.
