Vanessa Walker is a creative producer and strategic planner with a background in architecture and policy and extensive professional experience in the urban development and creative industries.

Throughout her career in the public and private sectors, Vanessa has been involved in planning, developing and managing new urban destinations and supporting their vitality through cultural projects, programs and partnerships. Since her long-standing involvement in Melbourne's Federation Square and later in Docklands, Vanessa has contributed to the planning of major urban renewal projects in capital cities and regions around Australia.

Vanessa is founding director of Big Space, a creative place making consultancy based in Melbourne, assisting developers and agencies to support dynamic urban culture through effective engagement, strategy and creative local projects.

Vanessa has curated and commissioned art in public contexts around Melbourne, working in collaboration with leading Australian artists and architects. She is an active arts advocate, public speaker and advisor to patrons and agencies including the Victorian Public Sculpture Fund and RMIT School of Art.
