Four innovative apartment designs are winners of the Future Homes design competition. The competition sought designs that can be easily replicated across typical suburban lots. This is to assist in delivering better density where people want to live.
Minister for Planning Richard Wynne said Future Homes invited Victoria’s best architects and building designers to develop a new generation of high-quality designs that suit diverse households.
Jill Garner AM, Jury Chair, said:
The OVGA is delighted to collaborate with DELWP to promote Victoria’s vision to become globally renowned for contemporary apartment designs showcasing how we can live more sustainably and build a valuable future legacy for our cities. It is so exciting that a key aim of the competition is to deliver a suite of exemplary designs that can be adaptable and replicable to many sites across Victoria.
The OVGA congratulates the four winners. They will now work with the State to refine their designs into exemplar plans that will be rolled out across Melbourne.
