MPavilion: Is Good Design Measurable?


The Office of the Victorian Government Architect hosted an Mtalks discussion panel 'Is Good Design Measurable?' External link on Wednesday 29th November at MPavilion. Led by Victorian Government Architect, Jill Garner and Andrew Mackenzie from City Lab, the event brought together design experts to explore the value of good design and weighed in on its measurability in creating sustainable, inclusive and engaging environments.

Over 200 people attended the fast-paced discussion which covered themes of health, education, public space, transport and neighbourhoods. 


Health: Stefano Scalzo, Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority; Paul Katsieris, Katsieris Origami and Sophie Patitsas, Office of Victorian Government Architect.

Education: Richard Leonard, Hayball and Kerstin Thompson, Kerstin Thompson Architects.

Public space: Adam Nitschke, Parks Victoria; Kirsten Bauer, Aspect Studios; and Bronwen Hamilton, Office of Victorian Government Architect.

Transport: Kate Hardwick, Melbourne Metro Rail Authority and Cameron Ritter, Grimshaw Architects.

Neighbourhoods: Dan Brady, Development Victoria and Billie Giles-Corti, Urban Futures Enabling Capability Platform and the Healthy Liveable Cities Group RMIT.
